“Hey everyone. My name is Pastor Brown. In three minutes, I’m going to tell y’all how to anchor life’s storms.”
V/O: “The text for today’s lesson will come from Acts Chapter 27 verses 9 through 12 and 18 to 25.”

V/O: “This passage is about a voyage.
“The captain decides to embark on this dangerous journey even though the apostle Paul told him it wasn’t a good idea. During the passage a huge storm whips the boat around almost sinking it, but eventually it stops, and everyone is safe.”

“This is a lot like life. We all have a journey, and we all have hardships. Like the captain we tend to ignore the messages God sends us, but using these four tips, we can learn how to get through those rough waves.”

V/O:” First you must start being attentive to God’s word. In this story, the captain ignores Paul’s warning, and because of this, everyone’s life is put in danger.
V/O: “In life we make decisions without consulting God’s word and fail to realize that our choices affect others. We must stop to think, “Will my choice harm other people?” It’s easy to ignore signs from God because you want to do what everyone else is doing,”
“but as Christians we have to answer to God. So, listen to Him and watch your course change.

V/O: “Next, start being active in the storm. When problems arise
V/O: “we tend to find ways to ignore the conflicts coming our way by doing things like over eating, abusing drug and alcohol abuse or pretending the problem doesn’t exist. Instead, we should take action. “
“When the boat began to sink, Paul took action by knocking cargo off the ship because it became dead weight. In our lives, we should look to find ways to help us stay afloat.”
V/O: “Whether that’s going to rehab, seeing a counselor or just working out a few times a week. We can’t wait on God to fix things; we have to meet him.”

V/O: “Lastly, stay attached in the storm. We often look for outlets and other ways to give up. But that’s not what God wants.”
“He wants you to hold on and have faith in him so that once you’ve gotten through the storm you have a wonderful story to tell.”

V/O: “So remember, stay attentive to God’s word, be active in the storm and stay attached to God in the storm and you’re sure to make it to any destination in one piece. “
“I’m Pastor Brown, and this is your sermon in three minutes.”
